Paraná Penal Police facilitate university entrance exams for inmates

The Paraná Penal Police (PPPR) coordinated the participation of 390 incarcerated individuals in the entrance exams for the State University of Londrina (UEL) on October 18 and 19. The exams took place across several facilities, including the Londrina State Penitentiary, the Londrina Resocialization Center (Creslon), the Londrina Public Jail, and the Social Complex.

Candidates competed for spots in various academic fields, such as Pedagogy, Mathematics, Social Work, Journalism, Agronomy, Law, Engineering, and Nursing. Lisiane Haag Antonelli, head of the PPPR Education and Training Section, stated that access to higher education serves as a powerful tool for reducing recidivism and fostering social reintegration. The preparation for these exams is coordinated by the State Center for Basic Education of Youth and Adults (Ceebja).
