Paraná Civil Police dismantles drug trafficking network in Southwest region

On July 3, the Polícia Civil do Paraná (PCPR) launched Operation Terminus, executing 36 judicial orders against an organized drug‑trafficking group operating in the Southwest of the state. More than 80 civil police officers, supported by search‑and‑rescue dogs, a PCPR helicopter, and collaborators from the Santa Catarina Civil Police and the Paraná Penitentiary Police, carried out simultaneous raids in the municipalities of Marmeleiro, Renascença, Francisco Beltrão, Cruzeiro do Oeste and the city of Chapecó in Santa Catarina.

The operation resulted in the arrest of 14 suspected members and seized evidence linking the group to wholesale distribution of narcotics and an estimated R$ 1 million in illicit proceeds. Police described the organization as having a defined structure with task divisions, supplying large quantities of drugs to other traffickers for resale to end users. Authorities said the raids aim to dismantle the financial base of the network and halt the flow of drugs in the region.
