Paraná Police indict woman for false sexual abuse report

The Civil Police of Paraná (PCPR) has indicted a 27-year-old woman for calumnious denunciation following the discovery that she fabricated a sexual abuse report against her former partner in Santa Tereza do Oeste.

The investigation revealed that the original report, filed in March 2019, claimed the man had threatened her with a knife during a sexual assault. However, during a recent judicial hearing, the woman retracted her statement, admitting that the sexual encounter was consensual and that no threats were made.

She further confessed to the court that the false accusation was a personal strategy intended to ensure her former partner remained distanced from her. The PCPR has gathered sufficient evidence of authorship and materiality to proceed with the indictment under Article 339 of the Brazilian Penal Code.
