Paraná Police launch Operation Omnis to combat cross-border crime

The Military Police of Paraná (PMPR) has launched ‘Operation Omnis – Fronteira’, an intensive crackdown on criminal activity in the western region of the state. Running through Friday, the operation focuses on combating drug and arms trafficking, smuggling, robberies, and the activities of organized crime groups.

Law enforcement efforts are concentrated in Foz do Iguaçu and surrounding border municipalities, utilizing land, water, and air patrols. The operation includes road blockades, vehicle inspections, and the monitoring of routes used for illicit goods. Authorities are also working to locate stolen or adulterated vehicles and execute outstanding arrest warrants.

State Secretary of Public Security Hudson Leôncio Teixeira stated that the mobilization aims to increase inspection capacity and reduce crime through coordinated, specialized teams in high-traffic areas, commercial corridors, and residential neighborhoods.
