Paraná police seize contraband cigarettes and halt tampered motorcycle in separate incidents

In Arapongas, Paraná, a 17‑year‑old was stopped by police after riding a motorcycle with altered identification marks. The vehicle, bought for R$2.6 thousand, had a tampered chassis number and was being used to transport a passenger. The teen was cited for multiple traffic violations, including riding on a sidewalk and running a red light, and was taken to the 22nd Police Station for further action.

In a separate incident on the BR‑163 highway near Toledo, Paraná, a 22‑year‑old driver attempted to flee a Federal Highway Police (PRF) checkpoint while carrying about 5,000 packs of contraband cigarettes. After traveling roughly seven kilometres, the driver lost control, causing the vehicle to overturn. The crash scattered part of the illegal cargo, and the driver sustained injuries before being hospitalized and placed in custody. The seized cigarettes were forwarded to the Federal Police in Cascavel.
