Paraná police seize drugs and arrest eight in anti‑crime operations

Police forces in the Brazilian state of Paraná carried out two separate operations. In the Tarumã neighborhood of Cascavel, the Military Police (PMPR) arrested six adults and a teenager after uncovering a drug‑trafficking network. Officers seized more than 34 kg of narcotics, including marijuana, hashish, capulhu and cocaine, as well as five motorcycles, a vehicle, precision scales, electronic cigarettes and cash, with the crime’s estimated loss of about R$750  thousand.

In the northern part of the state, the Civil Police (PCPR) detained two suspects in Cornélio Procópio and Londrina on charges of loan‑sharking, extortion and money laundering. The raid yielded a firearm, ammunition, roughly R$12 000 in cash, cheques and financial records. Both operations were part of ongoing investigations aimed at dismantling criminal activities and identifying additional victims.

All arrested individuals were transferred to the respective detention facilities for further legal processing.
