Paraná proposes energy entity as Mexico seeks scientific integration in environmental law

In Paraná, Argentina, the municipal government has presented a project to create the Energy Management Entity. This specialized body is designed to administer, conserve, and plan the city’s energy assets, specifically in preparation for the upcoming operation of the Paraná Photovoltaic Solar Park. Chief of Staff Santiago Halle stated the entity aims to concentrate existing technical capacities to ensure efficient management and prevent resource loss due to equipment failure.

In Mexico, Senator Maki Esther Ortiz Domínguez has proposed an initiative to integrate the Secretariat of Science, Humanities, Technology and Innovation into the General Law of Ecological Equilibrium and Environmental Protection (LGEEPA). The proposal seeks to harmonize environmental and climate challenges with scientific evidence, ensuring that public action regarding ecosystems, biodiversity, and waste management is coordinated across institutions rather than remaining fragmented.
