Paraná road projects progress: Rodovia da Uva duplication and Pato Branco bypass

The Paraná Department of Roads (DER/PR) announced the award of the contract to duplicate the Rodovia da Uva (PR‑417) between Curitiba and Colombo. The Consórcio Ivaí‑Setep won the bidding with a proposed price of R$200.4 million for a 4.52‑km concrete highway segment that will include new viaducts, a pedestrian bridge, lane expansions, and safety upgrades. The contract follows a court decision that lifted a suspension over environmental licensing concerns, allowing the work to proceed under a semi‑integrated contracting regime with a 21‑month schedule.

In the municipality of Pato Branco, DER/PR also reported progress on the northwest bypass (PR‑916). Earthworks have begun on a 14.34‑km stretch that will connect PR‑493 to PRC‑158, aiming to remove heavy‑vehicle traffic from the city centre. So far, R$5.0 million (3.38% of the total R$148.9 million contract) has been spent on terraplenagem and prefabricated concrete culverts. The project includes a future viaduct, additional lanes on steep sections, drainage, signage, and landscaping, with completion expected by the end of next year.
