Paraná sees freezing temperatures as cold front sweeps state

A cold front moved across Paraná, bringing frost and sub‑zero temperatures on July 24. The state's weather agency, Simepar, recorded the lowest temperature of –3 °C in General Carneiro, with several municipalities reporting freezing conditions and wind‑chill warnings for vulnerable populations.

Earlier in the month, on July 4, Simepar forecast a maximum of only 18 °C in Marechal Cândido Rondon, while other areas of the state experienced lows near 5 °C. The forecast called for clear skies but continued cold mornings, especially in southern and western regions, and projected a return of rain only early the following week.
