Paraná shows strong performance in security, agribusiness, and creative sectors
The state of Paraná is demonstrating strong performance across multiple economic and social sectors. According to the State Efficiency Ranking (REF-F) by Folha de S. Paulo and Datafolha, Paraná's public security is more efficient than the Brazilian average, scoring 0.774 on a scale of 0 to 1. The state also exceeded national averages in education, health, infrastructure, and finance.
In the agribusiness sector, 19 cooperatives from Paraná were named among the 1,000 largest companies in Brazil in the Valor 1000 ranking. These cooperatives, led by Coamo, Lar, and C. Vale, generated a combined net revenue of approximately R$ 158.7 billion. The broader cooperative system in the state, represented by Sistema Ocepar, reported a total turnover of R$ 221.6 billion in 2025, supporting over 4.47 million members.
Additionally, the creative economy in Paraná has grown to employ 77,000 people. In Curitiba, sectors related to technology, digital services, and creative activities are estimated to contribute between 3% and 4% of the capital's GDP. Technology remains the primary driver of this growth, followed by advertising and market research.
