Paraná upgrades highways with concrete pavement projects
The Paraná Department of Roads (DER/PR) is carrying out major concrete‑pavement upgrades on two highway corridors. On the PR‑460/PRC‑487 stretch between Nova Tebas and Pitanga, a whitetopping technique is being applied to a 51.52‑km segment, adding a new rigid concrete layer over existing asphalt, new drainage devices, viaducts, and lighting. The works, funded with R$ 28.66 million, are slated for completion in October 2027.
Separately, the DER/PR is reinforcing a 16.51‑km section of the PR‑090 between Sertanópolis and Bela Vista do Paraíso as part of the ProMAC maintenance program. The project, budgeting R$ 60.6 million, includes surface and deep repairs, a polymer‑modified hot‑mix concrete overlay, drainage improvements, and new signage. This work, along with upgrades on several other state roads, will continue through February 2029 and benefits multiple municipalities across the region.
