Paraná vehicle fleet reaches record 9.46 million units
The vehicle fleet in Paraná has reached a historic record of 9,459,926 active units as of September 2026, representing a 6.2% increase compared to the same period in 2025. This growth is attributed to several factors, including a reduction in the IPVA tax rate to 1.9%, a surge in electric vehicle registrations, and an increase in motorcycles and cars used for delivery and transport applications.
Electric vehicle adoption has seen significant momentum, with the number of fully electric vehicles nearly doubling in one year. The fleet composition includes over 5.1 million automobiles and approximately 1.56 million motorcycles. While newer vehicles are entering the market, the largest segment remains vehicles between 11 and 15 years old.
Other notable trends include a 24% increase in motorcycles compared to September 2024 and a substantial rise in hybrid and electric models. The expansion is also driven by the growing use of vehicles for commercial purposes in the gig economy.
