Paraná water system sees scheduled supply cuts and watershed committee meetings

The Paraná sanitation company Sanepar scheduled temporary water supply interruptions for June 30 to carry out network improvements and equipment replacements. In the metropolitan area of Curitiba, the neighborhoods of Jardim Menino Deus and Jardim Pinheiros in Quatro Barras were affected, with service expected to resume by night. In the interior, the cities of Céu Azul (neighbourhoods São Cristóvão and Iguaçu) and Joaquim Távora (Centro, Afonso Camargo and São Sebastião) also faced cuts, with normalization planned for the afternoon or evening.

Separately, three Paraná watershed committees (CBHs) will hold remote meetings in early July to discuss basin management plans. The CBH of the Médio Iguaçu affluents meets on 2 July, followed on 3 July by the CBH of the Rios Piquiri and Paraná 2, and the CBH of Baixo Ivaí and Paraná 1. The latter will also conduct sectoral elections on 8‑10 July to appoint new representatives from public authorities, water users and civil society. All sessions will be streamed on YouTube as part of the Institute Água e Terra's water resources program.
