Paraná woman gives birth on BR-116 highway shoulder

A woman gave birth on the shoulder of the BR-116 highway in Campina Grande do Sul, located in the Curitiba metropolitan region of Paraná.

Emergency rescue teams from the concessionaire Arteris Régis Bittencourt were called around 10:14 a.m. to assist a pregnant woman who was 36 weeks and six days into her pregnancy and in advanced labor. The emergency procedure was performed on-site at kilometer 57.2 of the highway. The baby was born healthy and without complications at 11:02 a.m. Following initial care on the road, both the mother and the newborn were transported to Hospital Angelina Caron for medical evaluation and postpartum follow-up.
