Paranaíba: Man dies after falling from boat during fishing trip

A fishing trip in the Rio Santana, located in the rural region of Paranaíba, Mato Grosso do Sul, ended in tragedy on Thursday. Jonatan Cesar de Azambuja, 29, died after falling from a boat while fishing with his father.

The accident occurred in a stretch of the river approximately seven kilometers from the urban area of Paranaíba, heading toward Aparecida do Taboado. After losing his balance and falling into the water, the victim disappeared beneath the surface.

The Fire Department was mobilized to conduct search operations. Following the deployment of a specialized diving team, the victim's body was located at approximately 1:20 p.m. on the riverbed in an area with low visibility.

Civil Police and technical forensic teams attended the scene to conduct necessary procedures. The incident has been registered at the 1st Police Station of Paranaíba as a death by drowning, with preliminary findings suggesting a sudden accident without third-party involvement.
