Paranaguá municipal sports complex opens new facilities

The municipality of Paranaguá inaugurated a series of new sports and leisure installations at the Aeroparque on Sunday. The project added two modular 3×3 basketball courts, hydration and speed totems, upgraded sand courts and a new service point for the Municipal Sports and Youth Department, which will operate daily from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. The investment, estimated between 1.2 million and 1.5 million reais, includes drainage work and durable court surfaces that absorb water, allowing use after rain.

Secretary of Sports and Youth José Miguel Pereira said the aim is to broaden access to sport and leisure for all residents and that the Aeroparque pilot will be followed by similar upgrades in other city neighborhoods such as Samambaia, the South region and Porto dos Padres. The opening ceremony featured 3×3 basketball games, a speed‑totem competition, artistic performances and community activities.
