Paranaguá Terminal receives new weekly container route from China

The Paranaguá Container Terminal (TCP) has launched a new weekly maritime service called Falcon, operated by the shipping company ZIM. The route connects China with the East Coast of South America, including stops in Shanghai, Ningbo, Hong Kong, and Yantian.

The service also includes calls at ports in Brazil, Montevideo (Uruguay), and Buenos Aires (Argentina). The inaugural call was made by the container ship ZIM Wilmington, which measures 300 meters in length and 48 meters in width. The Falcon service utilizes a fleet of 11 vessels and is primarily focused on transporting imported goods.

This new connection arrives amid growing trade relations with China. Between January and September 2026, TCP moved over 2 million tons of cargo related to China, consisting of 1.07 million tons exported and 1.012 million tons imported. Key exports include chicken and beef, while major imports include various goods, agricultural pesticides, and tires.
