Paranair revises Argentina flights and faces uncertainty on Uruguay route

Paranair, the Paraguayan carrier, issued an updated schedule for its Argentine services covering August‑September 2026 after a period of reduced capacity caused by a limited fleet. The airline cancelled and reprogrammed several routes, including Asunción‑Buenos Aires, Salta and Jujuy, and announced a temporary suspension of flights at Aeroparque Jorge Newbery from 25‑31 August for infrastructure works. It plans to add aircraft and secure regulatory approvals to stabilise operations by September.

In Uruguay, the airline’s Salto‑Montevideo service has been plagued by technical problems and a single‑aircraft fleet, leading to repeated cancellations since June. Local authorities, including Salto’s tourism director Eduardo Sanguinetti and Uruguay’s tourism minister Pablo Menoni, met with Paranair CEO Jaime Cassola to discuss maintaining the route. The airline cited an engine‑replacement workshop as the cause of the disruption and referenced a similar suspension of its Rivera flights in July.
