Paranavaí issues 1,200 notifications to remove irregular wires

The City of Paranavaí has issued more than 1,200 notifications since January 2025 regarding the removal of irregular, abandoned, or unused wires from utility poles. This initiative, led by the Municipal Secretariat of Urban Development, involves cooperation with Copel and various telecommunications companies to organize and secure the city's cabling networks.

In May, a joint operation successfully removed 505 kilograms of unused cables and reorganized 2.6 kilometers of wiring in the central region. While telecommunications operators are responsible for maintaining their specific cables, Copel oversees the shared use of the structures and notifies companies when installations fail to meet standards. The municipality is also working with the Public Ministry and the Judiciary to expand these interventions.
