Paranormal Activity makes Broadway debut at August Wilson Theatre
The horror film franchise ‘Paranormal Activity’ has made its Broadway debut at the August Wilson Theatre in New York for a limited run. Written by Levi Holloway, the stage production adapts the spirit of the film series into a two-act live theater experience.
The story follows an American couple, Lou (Cher Álvarez) and James (Travis A. Knight), who move into a gloomy two-story house in London to escape unsettling events they experienced in Chicago. The production utilizes a set designed by Fly Davis and lighting by Anna Watson to create an ominous atmosphere, allowing the audience to view the haunted house simultaneously rather than through the found-footage lens of the original films.
Following previous stops in cities such as London, Chicago, Los Angeles, and Toronto, this New York premiere marks a significant attempt to bring high-concept horror to the Broadway stage.
