Paraná's exports surge 3.7% in early 2026, boosted by turkey meat, machinery and record peanut harvest

State data show Paraná’s foreign trade reached US$9.7 billion from January to May 2026, a 3.7 % increase over the same period a year earlier. The growth was led by high‑value products such as earth‑moving machines, cargo trucks and key agribusiness commodities – raw soy oil (+82 %), cellulose (+23 %), soybeans (+13 %) and chicken meat (+11 %). The ten main destinations were China, Argentina, India, the United States, Mexico, Peru, Chile, Paraguay, Japan and Iran, together accounting for just over 40 % of the total, while market diversification reduced reliance on any single buyer. "Vivenciamos um momento de intensos conflitos bélicos internacionais… o que não vem impedindo a expansão do comércio exterior do Paraná", said Jorge Callado, director‑president of Ipardes.

Paraná also cemented its position as Brazil’s third‑largest turkey‑meat exporter, shipping 4,739 tonnes and earning US$22.6 million, with an average price of US$4,059 per tonne – a 77.6 % jump from the previous year. Meanwhile, the state anticipates a record‑breaking peanut harvest of about 5.6 thousand tonnes, contributing to a projected national record of 1.2 million tonnes in 2025/26. Positive conditions for the second‑crop corn season further underpin the state's robust agricultural outlook.
