Parapentist Rescued from Tree in Timbó, Brazil after Accident

On Sunday afternoon, a parapentist flying from the Morro Azul ramp near Timbó, Santa Catarina, fell and became trapped in the canopy of a tall tree along the Estrada Geral Mulde Alta. The Corpo de Bombeiros Militar de Timbó was dispatched, and because the location was inaccessible by ground, the unit called the Arcanjo 03 helicopter to conduct a high‑angle rescue.

Rescuers used ropes attached to the helicopter to lift the victim and his equipment out of the tree. The man was conscious, oriented and suffered no injuries. After a brief medical assessment he remained on site, as no hospital transport was required.
