Paraíso das Águas launches series to preserve pioneer histories

To celebrate the 23rd anniversary of Paraíso das Águas, the municipal government has launched the series ‘Vozes da Origem – Pioneiros de Paraíso das Águas’. The project aims to preserve the history and development of the municipality by recording video testimonies from the men and women who helped build the community.

Managed by the Municipal Secretariat of Education, Culture, Sport, and Leisure (Semecel) and the Division of Cultural Development, the initiative is led by Jennifer Vitorino. The series features the life stories of various pioneers, including Dona Esmeralda, Dona Laura, Seu Cecílio, Dona Deja, Dona Nair, and Dona Aparecida. These episodes, published on Semecel’s Instagram, serve as an audiovisual archive documenting the social and structural transformations of the region over several decades.
