Paratriathlete Péter Boronkay to push friend for 51km charity challenge
Paratriathlete Péter Boronkay and his friend, Dr. András Nagy, are preparing for a unique 51.1-kilometer endurance challenge this autumn. Boronkay, a ten-time world champion and nine-time European champion paratriathlete born without a left forearm, will use a single arm to guide a specialized running chair carrying the 75-kilogram load of Dr. Nagy.
The mission is divided into two stages: the 21.1-kilometer Wizz Air Budapest Half Marathon on September 6, followed by a 30-kilometer run in October. The duo aims to complete the half marathon in under two hours. This year, their efforts are dedicated to raising donations for the Association for Autistic Children. To prepare, the pair conducts weekly training sessions in Kecskemét using a professional running chair provided by the Hungarian Paralympic Committee.
