Paratus Uganda launches Starlink satellite services

Paratus Uganda has become the first provider to launch Starlink’s low Earth orbit (LEO) satellite services in Uganda. This follows an operational license agreement between the Uganda Communications Commission and Starlink signed in May 2026.

The service aims to provide high-speed, low-latency connectivity to enterprise customers, particularly in remote and underserved regions where traditional terrestrial telecommunications infrastructure is limited. Paratus Uganda, a joint venture between Paratus Group and Roke Telkom, is currently activating customers in sectors such as mining, healthcare, tourism, NGOs, and government.

This launch marks the ninth African country where Paratus Group offers Starlink services, supporting the company's strategy to build a multi-layered, contiguous connectivity network across the continent.
