Parauapebas to source school meals from family farmers

The City of Parauapebas, through its Municipal Education Secretariat (Semed), is launching a public call for the acquisition of food from family farming to supply the municipal school meal program. This initiative is part of the National School Feeding Program (PNAE).

The program aims to connect local family farmers, rural entrepreneurs, associations, and cooperatives directly to schools, strengthening the regional economy while ensuring food supply for students. Priority will be given to local producers and groups in situations of greater vulnerability, including agrarian reform settlements, indigenous communities, and quilombola communities, as well as organic or agroecological producers.

Interested parties must submit qualification documents and a sales project. The process includes specific sanitary requirements and may require samples for certain products, such as honey, cocoa powder, and fruit pulps, to evaluate labeling and sensory characteristics. There is a limit of R$ 40,000 per family farmer or entrepreneur.
