Parcelles Assainies Beach Tragedy Claims Life of 10-Year-Old Boy

On 29 July 2026, a 10‑year‑old boy was found dead on the beach at Unité 15 in the Parcelles Assainies district. Police arrived to discover the child's body covered with a white sheet, and a second child who had been with him was declared missing and presumed drowned.

Firefighters conducted sea searches but were unable to locate the second child. The recovered body was taken to Idrissa Pouye General Hospital for an autopsy, and the public prosecutor was notified of the death and the ongoing disappearance investigation.
