Parco della Pace named finalist for European Prize for Urban Public Space

The Parco della Pace in Vicenza, Italy, has been named one of the five finalists for the 2026 European Prize for Urban Public Space. The project, which transformed the former Dal Molin airport into a 65-hectare ecological urban park, was selected from 381 entries across 38 European countries.

The competition, organized by the Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona (Cccb), celebrates its 25th anniversary this year. The final five projects were chosen by an international jury led by Eva Prats for their formal rigor, environmental sensitivity, and ability to integrate new functions into the urban fabric.

The other finalists include Zuidpark in Antwerp (Belgium), Catalan Glories Square in Barcelona (Spain), Round About Baths in Logroño (Spain), and the Leça Green Corridor in Matosinhos (Portugal).
