Pardubice City Approves New Legal Street‑Art Zones

The municipal government of Pardubice, Czech Republic, plans to create additional designated surfaces where street artists can paint legally. Mayor Jiří Klouč (ANO) said the city already has a list of locations – such as the under‑pass near the railway station and the Anenský under‑pass – that will be prepared for legal graffiti and street‑art projects. Officials hope that offering sanctioned spaces will reduce the costs and complaints associated with vandalism, while supporting the city’s underground art scene.

Artists and local officials described the initiative as a way to revitalize public areas, give emerging creators visibility, and ensure that any artwork complies with city regulations, including bans on discriminatory or racist content.
