Police respond to burglaries and thefts in Pardubice and Košice

Several criminal incidents were reported in Central Europe involving theft and police interventions.

In Pardubice, Czech Republic, a 24-year-old man and woman were arrested after a burglary. The pair attempted to escape a building by climbing along a ledge above a McDonald's restaurant. They moved across balconies and rooftops, eventually dropping a stolen gramophone and a book before being cornered by police using a ladder. They face up to three years in prison for burglary and breaking and entering.

In Košice, Slovakia, police detained a duo suspected of damaging parcel lockers and stealing shipments in the Myslava district. During the stop of their BMW, officers discovered stolen packages and a small bag containing a white crystalline substance, which the driver claimed was methamphetamine. Criminal proceedings for theft and illegal possession of narcotics have been initiated.

In Linz, Austria, police evicted an 80-year-old woman following a physical altercation with her Iraqi neighbor. While the neighbor alleged he was assaulted and insulted, police determined the woman posed a potential threat to the resident's safety and ordered her immediate removal from the residence.
