Pardubice skatepark to receive 1.6 million CZK upgrade with new obstacles

The city of Pardubice has allocated 1.6 million Czech crowns (including VAT) to modernise its skatepark, a hub for skateboarders, BMX riders, scooter users and inline skaters. The renovation will add a new "bank‑to‑bank" obstacle with a rail, install removable railings, replace worn‑out riding surfaces, add side‑walls and repair overall pavement. All new structures will be built from zinc‑coated steel and other durable materials to ensure long‑term use.

The construction phase, estimated at about 15 weeks after the contractor is selected, is planned to be completed within the current year. Deputy mayors Jakub Rychtecký and Jan Hrabal highlighted that the skatepark is one of the most visited outdoor sport venues for young people in the city, regularly hosting training camps, national championships and attracting participants from across the Czech Republic and abroad. The upgrades aim to keep the site attractive for both beginners and elite athletes.
