Pardubice basketball hall reconstruction set for autumn 2026 after €21 m cost rise

The city of Pardubice is close to completing the reconstruction of its Dukla basketball hall. The modernised arena will feature two new training courts, wellness and regeneration facilities, a gym, accommodation capacity, upgraded audiovisual systems and expanded parking. Energy‑efficiency measures and provisions for future photovoltaic expansion are also included.

Originally budgeted at CZK 185.6 million, the project’s total cost has risen by CZK 21.45 million (about €1 million) after extensive structural repairs were required on the 1960s‑era building. An additional CZK 12.5 million is being sought to cover the shortfall, and the city is applying for a CZK 5 million grant from the National Sports Agency.

Work proceeds on schedule, with a city council‑led site seminar held in May 2026 confirming the timeline. The hall is slated to reopen in the autumn of 2026, providing upgraded facilities for youth basketball, sports academies, schools and local clubs.
