Parental shouting impacts child brain development

Research and expert insights highlight the psychological impact of parental shouting on child brain development. While parents may yell due to high stress levels, such outbursts can create psychological pressure and may be classified as a form of emotional violence.

In her book ‘Worte wie Pfeile’, Anke Elisabeth Ballmann discusses how emotional violence and hurtful words can leave lasting traces on a child's development, affecting their self-acceptance and social interactions throughout their lives. Experts suggest that because children cannot always understand the reason for the shouting, being blamed for the outburst can be particularly damaging to their sense of security.
