Parenting advice focuses on financial communication and imaginative play

Experts and parenting influencers are offering guidance on how to approach children regarding finances and play. Joe Frost, known as ‘Superdadilja’, suggests that parents avoid telling children ‘we don’t have money’ for non-essential items. Instead, she recommends explaining that certain purchases are not priorities or that funds are being saved for other needs, helping children understand budgeting and planning without creating a sense of constant financial instability.

Regarding toys and gifts, emphasis is being placed on items that foster imagination and active engagement. Drawing on frameworks from the LEGO Foundation, the value of a toy is seen not in its automated functions, but in its ability to allow children to create, experiment, and interact with others. Examples include building blocks that can become various structures or tactile tools like LEGO Braille Bricks, which support inclusive learning through touch.
