Parents advise children to avoid being overly kind to five types of people
Parents are encouraged to teach their children to be kind while also setting clear boundaries. The advice lists five kinds of individuals whose requests should be limited or declined:
1. The ungrateful – people who only appear when they need help and become hostile if refused. 2. The demanding – those who increase their expectations the more tolerance they receive. 3. The fake – individuals who act friendly only when it benefits them and disappear otherwise. 4. The disrespectful toward parents – people who show little regard for their own parents, indicating poor character. 5. The gossipers – those who spread rumors or speak ill behind others' backs.
The guidance stresses that kindness does not require pleasing everyone and that children should learn to say “no” when necessary to protect themselves.
