Parents in Frëngovë boycott school over combined classes

Parents in the village of Frëngovë, located in the Struga municipality, have been boycotting school for a week. The protest follows a decision to merge first and third-grade students into a single combined classroom.

The decision was made after a teacher retired, leaving the school with insufficient staff to maintain separate classes. The combined group consists of ten children: seven first-graders and three third-graders.

Local parents argue that combined learning is inadequate for the students' needs, particularly for first-graders who are learning basic literacy. They are demanding that the Struga Municipality and the Ministry of Education reconsider the decision and provide separate classrooms for each grade level.
