Parineeti Chopra discusses the challenges of returning to work as a mother

Actor Parineeti Chopra has spoken about the intense emotional and physical difficulties of returning to work after childbirth. In an interview with India Today, she described the experience of leaving her son, Neer, for the first time as a period of “crippling physical pain” rather than mere guilt.

Chopra recalled that her first flight back to Bombay after months of being home full-time was a blur, stating she has no memory of the airport or the flight itself, only that she was “sobbing for three hours.” She expressed frustration with societal expectations placed on mothers to put their lives on hold and questioned why women are frequently asked about their children when they are out working.

These reflections follow the release of her Netflix web series debut, “Shaque: Trust No One,” a thriller about a mother whose newborn daughter goes missing. Chopra noted that she discovered she was pregnant while filming the project.
