Paris 2026 European Swimming Championships to feature 1,200 athletes

The 2026 European Swimming Championships will be held in Paris from 31 July to 16 August. Events span four disciplines – pool swimming, synchronized swimming, distance swimming and water jumps – across venues at the Paris Aquatic Centre in Saint‑Denis and a temporary site near the Pont de Grenelle beneath the Eiffel Tower. About 1,200 competitors will contest 74 medal sets.

Slovakia is slated to send a 14‑person team. Nine athletes will compete in pool swimming, including Matej Duša, Samuel Košťál, Milan Vojtko, František Jablčník, Jakub Gabriel, Jakub Poliačik, Lillian Slušná, Nikoleta Trníková and Tamara Potocká. The remaining five will contest distance events and water jumps, with swimmers such as Tomáš Peciar and Žofia Strapeková among the squad. No Slovak medals were won at the most recent European Championships in 2024, but the team hopes to improve its performance in Paris.
