Paris: Actress Emma Kunstlich attempts to stop supermarket looting

Emma Kunstlich, a 24-year-old acting student, gained widespread attention after attempting to intervene during supermarket looting in Paris. The incident occurred near Place de la République during widespread unrest in France on October 17 and 18, which involved clashes between protesters and police, looting, and arson.

Footage circulating on social media shows Kunstlich standing at a supermarket entrance, pleading with masked individuals to stop. She was heard shouting, “Stop, stop! Why are you doing this? This is not the purpose of the struggle!” and “Don't touch me!” as looters attempted to move her away from the entrance.

In an interview with Le Monde, Kunstlich expressed shock at the behavior of the masked individuals, noting that they “do not even have a political message.” The video has drawn significant reactions online from individuals who, while supporting the underlying anti-government protests, condemned the acts of looting and vandalism.
