Paris and Montreal face major transit and road disruptions

Major transportation disruptions are scheduled for Paris and Montreal due to infrastructure maintenance and modernization projects.

In Paris, the RATP has announced that Metro Line 6 will be completely closed on seven specific Sundays between September and November 2026. These closures, which include three consecutive Sundays in October, are necessary for modernization works. While replacement buses will operate between Charles de Gaulle–Étoile and La Motte-Picquet–Grenelle, they will not cover the entire line to Nation, requiring passengers to use alternative routes.

In the Greater Montreal area, significant road closures are planned for the Labor Day long weekend from September 4 to September 8. The Louis-Hippolyte-La Fontaine Tunnel will face complete closures in the northbound direction and partial closures in the southbound direction. Additionally, the Victoria Bridge will experience reduced capacity, and single-lane traffic is expected on the A-20 between Belœil and Mont-Saint-Hilaire.
