Paris CAC 40 rises on optimism over US‑Iran agreement
The CAC 40 index gained 0.37% on Friday, reaching 8,116.18 points as investors cheered developments that could lead to a diplomatic accord between the United States and Iran. Analysts highlighted the expected visit of Pakistani army chief Asim Munir to Tehran and comments from U.S. diplomat Marco Rubio expressing hope the trip will advance talks.
The rally also lifted French government bond yields, with the 10‑year rate falling to 3.69% (Germany’s benchmark at 3.06%). Despite broader European economic slowdown and higher energy‑price‑driven inflation, semiconductor and technology shares such as Nvidia, STMicroelectronics and Soitec posted strong gains, underpinning market momentum.
