Paris church evacuated after woman brings explosive devices
An elderly woman caused a brief security alert in Paris after bringing two explosive devices to the Notre-Dame de la Gare church in the 13th arrondissement. The woman informed a parish priest that she had found the items in her building.
The priest secured the devices in the sacristy and alerted authorities, leading to the evacuation of approximately one hundred parishioners. Bomb disposal experts arrived to inspect the items and determined they were a maneuvering bomb and a smoke bomb, posing no threat to life. Following the inspection, security measures were lifted and services resumed. Police searched the woman's home but found no further explosives, and the priest reportedly chose not to file official charges.
