Paris commuter rail Line R faces extensive July‑August service interruptions
From late June through early September, SNCF is carrying out day‑time, evening and weekend works on the Paris‑Lyon line R. Daily daytime work from 29 June to 10 July halts traffic in both directions between Melun and Montereau via Héricy; the last northbound train departs at 09:48 and resumes at 15:48, with a similar pattern southbound. Evening works during the same weeks suspend service between Moret‑Veneux‑les‑Sablons and Montargis, with the final Paris‑Gare‑de‑Lyon departure for Montargis at 22:03. Additional night‑time interruptions continue throughout July and August on sections linking Paris‑Gare‑de‑Lyon with Montargis and Montereau, altering departure times and causing some trains to run non‑stop via Corbeil‑Essonnes or Héricy. Weekend adjustments on 25 July and 8 August shift trains onto alternate routes after 23:10, extending travel times. Travelers are advised to verify timetables in advance of their journeys.
