Paris Court Rejects Xenia Fedorova’s Challenge to Expulsion and Asset Freeze

On 3 August, the Paris administrative court dismissed a request by pro‑Russian commentator Xenia Fedorova to suspend her expulsion from France and the freezing of her assets. The judges ruled that she had not demonstrated the “extreme urgency” required for a rapid suspension, noting she offered no evidence of a need to leave Paris, had not sought police permission, and merely complained that the reporting requirement caused inconvenience.

Fedorova, who appears on CNews, Europe 1 and the JDNews weekly, has been accused by Interior Minister Laurent Nuñez and Foreign Minister Jean‑Noël Barrot of acting as an “influence agent” for Russian propaganda. Her media presence is linked to outlets owned by media magnate Vincent Bolloré. The court’s decision leaves the expulsion order and asset freeze in place.

The ruling underscores French authorities’ stance against perceived foreign disinformation campaigns and maintains the legal measures against Fedorova.
