Paris Design Week to transform French capital into creative urban laboratory

Paris Design Week is set to return to the French capital from September 10 to 19, 2026, transforming the city into an urban laboratory of creativity. The festival will move beyond traditional showrooms to occupy gardens, private hotels, museums, and various public spaces, offering numerous free installations to the public.

Key highlights include sculptural works in historic gardens. At the Hôtel de Rohan, designer Pierre Renart will present ‘Arabesque’, a continuous curved Moabi wood bench inspired by French parterres. Nearby, at the Hôtel de Soubise, Johanna de Clisson will showcase ‘Escultura/Paisaje: Nuevas figuras del jardín a la francesa’, a series of white stoneware planter-sculptures that reinterpret classical garden codes through a contemporary lens.

Additionally, a monumental textile installation titled ‘La Reprise de la Bastille’ will be featured at the Place de la Bastille, surrounding the July Column.
