Italy dominates European Aquatics Championships in Paris with multiple golds

Italian divers Chiara Pellacani and Matteo Santoro won two gold medals in a single day at the 2026 European Aquatics Championships in Paris, taking the mixed 3‑metre synchro with 305.85 points and Pellacani adding the 1‑metre springboard title with 298.90 points. Their victories were followed by a silver for the Russian pair Ilia Molchanov and Elizaveta Kuzina and a bronze for the German duo Luis Carlo Avila Sanchez and Lena Corona Hentschel in the same event. In the 1‑metre springboard, Swiss diver Michelle Luisa Heimberg earned silver (258.80) and British diver Desharne Bent‑Ashmeil bronze (254.35).

In artistic swimming, 19‑year‑old Filippo Pelati secured silver in the solo free routine with 252.8713 points, adding to his earlier silver in the solo technical and a bronze in the mixed duet. Italy’s overall medal haul at the championships reached six – three gold, three silver and one bronze – confirming the country’s leading position across diving and artistic swimming disciplines.
