Paris gas explosion trial begins for Rue de Trévise victims
A trial has commenced regarding the responsibility of the City of Paris and the building's syndic following a massive gas explosion on Rue de Trévise. The incident, which occurred over seven years ago, was caused by a ruptured gas pipe and resulted in four deaths and approximately 200 injuries.
The deceased included two firefighters, a 38-year-old Spanish tourist, and a 28-year-old resident. Survivors describe the event as a “war scene,” with many suffering severe physical trauma and long-term psychological distress. Victims are seeking full reparations and accountability for the disaster.
