Paris Haute Couture Week 2026 features Balenciaga, Gaultier and Dior shows

Paris Haute Couture Week returned from 6‑9 July 2026 with a focus on careful renewal rather than spectacle. Pierpaolo Piccioli, artistic director of Balenciaga since 2025, presented his first official couture collection for the house, referencing historic volume, cocoon silhouettes and precise proportions while emphasizing material choice and craftsmanship.

Dutch designer Duran Lantink debuted his inaugural couture line for Jean‑Paul Gaultier, reinterpreting the brand’s provocative imagery through textured collages, surprising drapery and modular constructions that explore gender codes without becoming nostalgic pastiche.

At the Musée Rodin, Jonathan Anderson unveiled his second Dior haute‑couture collection for the 2026/27 season. Drawing inspiration from artist Lynda Benglis and Indian artisanal traditions, the show featured sculptural metallic pleats, chintz fabrics, and a new fluid silhouette, with the iconic Bar jacket reimagined in lightweight materials and frayed edges. The immersive set blended tropical foliage with sculptural elements, concluding with an ethereal bridal gown that attracted media attention.
