Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week 2026 opens with star‑studded shows
Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week began on 6 July 2026 and runs through 9 July, featuring collections from Dior, Chanel, Schiaparelli and other leading houses. Daniel Roseberry’s Schiaparelli show opened the week with the surreal “O Abismo” collection, introducing latex‑silicone garments, hand‑embroidered floral petals and integrated lighting. Chanel’s autumn‑winter 2026‑27 couture under creative director Matthieu Blazy presented a fairy‑tale forest of giant vines and flowers, with pastel fabrics, feathered headpieces and masculine tailoring.
The front row was filled with celebrities: Cardi B, Sabrina Carpenter, Bad Bunny, Vanessa Paradis, Tilda Swinton, Emma Corrin, Michelle Yeoh and many others attended the runway presentations at the Grand Palais and Petit Palais. Bad Bunny attracted attention in a custom yellow butter‑tone suit with a braided hair‑tie‑like cravat.
In parallel, the week hosted two high‑profile auctions of previously unseen fashion archives. Sotheby’s offered over a thousand Karl Lagerfeld sketches and documents, while a separate sale featured Martin Margiela pieces and personal archives, highlighting the historic significance of the event for the fashion industry.
