Paris hosts historical Fête de Paris cultural celebration

Paris recently hosted the Fête de Paris, a large-scale historical and cultural celebration held in the heart of the capital. The event featured artisans, musicians, and performers who occupied the Jardin du Luxembourg and the streets of the Latin Quarter.

A major parade on Sunday showcased several centuries of Parisian history, beginning with the Middle Ages and the arrival of King Louis IX. The procession continued through various eras, including the reigns of François Ier, the theatrical era of Molière, and the period of Louis XVI and Marie-Antoinette.

The parade also highlighted the French Revolution, the era of Napoleon and Joséphine, the Paris Commune, and the late 19th century, including the inauguration of the Palais Garnier. The festivities emphasized French traditions, featuring pastry chefs showcasing gastronomy and a display of vintage automobiles.
